Call of Duty Mobile review: Offers faster gameplay with less talking and more shooting

Call-of-duty-2PUBG Mobile has been the go-to multi-player shooter game on smartphones for over a year now. While there are professional PUBG Mobile players making money from competitions and YouTube videos, the vast majority of recreational mobile gamers have had enough of it already. This is where the more exciting  Call of Duty Mobile steps in. The gameplay format is similar to PUBG Mobile but faster, smoother and gives you a feel of modern warfare.

Call of Duty Mobile officially made it to google play and Apple App Store in October. Within a week of launch, Call of Duty Mobile became the most popular game in India. At last count, there were nearly 14 million downloads of the game in the country. Little surprise in the numbers as Call of Duty actually makes PUBG look boring.

The game offers realistic and visually-appealing graphics without any lags. Overall, the gameplay is faster as there is less talking and more shooting. Also, Call of Duty Mobile lets players be in the shoes of highly-trained and equipped commandos unlike the fancy dress competition in PUBG Mobile with old weaponry. Be it gliding to take cover or firing automatic rifles such as PDW-57 or SAM Turrets, Call of Duty Mobile puts you right into a modern-day battlefield. Not to forget you can also request a gunship for aerial support along with regulars like UAV assists and killer drones.

The game comes with five online multiplayer modes, which include Free-For-All, Frontline, Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, and Domination.

There is also a battle royale mode, similar to PUBG Mobile, where 100 players are pitted against each other -- either in solo, duo or in a team of four.

For Android devices, you need at least 2GB of RAM and the phone must be running on Android 5.1 Lollipop or above. Apple iPhone users need any device running iOS 9 or higher.

Call of Duty has a huge fan following in PC gaming and the free-to-play mobile version of the game will simply extend the true COD experience to a larger base of first time players. And for regular mobile gamers, this offers a much-needed break from chicken dinners.
